The company

Company in the food sector specializing in the manufacture of pre-baked bread and frozen pastries. The company has 10 production plants with about 2,000 employees.

The challenge

  • The challenge was to define and implement a new maintenance model to improve staff productivity and the availability of lines, reducing downtime due to breakdown and wastage.

The solution

  • We defined a new maintenance model and implemented it in one of the production plants, reviewing all ranges of preventive maintenance of the lines.
  • We implemented the new model in the rest of the company’s plants.
  • We defined a single criterion for the coding of parts in all plants and standardized suppliers.
  • The overall results achieved had an impact of around €3 M a year, thanks to improved availability and waste reduction.
