Harmonization of maintenance management

The challenge

A leading consumer packaged goods company in the beverage sector supplying a population close to 100 million people in 14 countries, as well as managing 21 production plants, with more than 8,800 employees and a turnover of more than 1,800 MM€.

The company operates various plants with different models of maintenance management, which hinder the consistency of its integral maintenance processes. Furthermore, the scattered location of plants complicates the establishment of common goals and criteria across all of them.

At Alfa Consulting, we designed a maintenance management model based on 10 pillars: asset utilization, cost control, Security, Health and Environment, Reliability, Planning and Preparation, Execution and Maintenance, Stock Management, External Services Management, Tool and Capacities Management, and Stream Knowledge management. Each plant was assessed against this model in order to establish a specific work plan for each of these pillars.

The results

  • 10%

    increase of productive capacity

  • 20%

    increase of technician productivity

  • 2.5MM€

    reduction of external contractors
